Marithé + François Girbaud
The French designer couple Marithé and François Girbaud have been absolute trendsetters for over 30 years.
Without the Girbauds, fashion would be a lot poorer and many sorts of fabrics wouldn’t exist. For the first time in 1968 François Girbaud brought stones into the laundry and invented stone-washed jeans.
Girbaud welds together using ultrasound, lasers ornaments onto denim or reinvents classical fabrics to new, not yet seen ones.
Work done by hand is important to Girbaud. Costly but interesting cut details make his fashion very high- quality and unique.
Girbaud is not age specific but questions one’s attitude towards life. Dressed in Girbaud, you can go to the office in the mornings and to the theatre in the evenings.
